In an industry that is constantly evolving, how do you ensure your organization stays ahead of trends and innovations?

By combining a focus on Consumer-centric innovation and following EOV testing process– Explore, Optimize, Validate, I stay well-positioned to not only keep up with industry changes but to lead them.

  1. Consumer driven - Building a Strong Consumer Connection: Staying grounded in consumer needs is critical. By continuously engaging with consumers through qualitative and quantitative research, we uncover insights that help us anticipate their future needs and preferences.

  2. Explore - Triangulate Data from multiple sources: My team and I regularly analyze 5Cs data – Consumer, Customer, Category, Competition, Climate by using advanced analytics tools, which helps in identifying consumer behavior shifts, and cultural trends and predict potential disruptions, allowing us to adapt and innovate ahead of the curve.

  3. Optimize - Fostering a Culture of Experimentation: Encouraging cross-functional collaboration and promoting a test-and-learn mindset ensures that our organization remains agile. Whether it’s exploring new methodologies or testing bold campaign ideas, we prioritize learning from each experiment to refine our strategies.

  4. Validate - Developing Future-Focused Roadmaps: I led the development of a 3-year innovation roadmap, helping redefine brand architecture and identify key growth territories. This forward-thinking approach not only guided short-term actions but also laid a strong foundation for long-term success.

What strategies do you implement to foster collaboration and innovation within your teams?

Fostering collaboration and innovation within teams requires creating an environment where diverse perspectives thrive and creativity is encouraged.

  • Encouraging Cross: Functional Collaboration: By bringing together individuals from different departments and backgrounds, we leverage a wide range of expertise and viewpoints. This diversity often leads to breakthrough ideas and holistic solutions to complex problems.

  • Democratize Learning and Networking: I make it a priority to stay connected with industry thought leaders and attend key conferences like IIEX and ESOMAR. These events provide invaluable insights into emerging trends and foster connections that spark innovative ideas. It is imperative for teams to attend and socialize the learnings from these conferences with other team mates at your organization.

What skills or attributes do you believe are essential for future leaders in the research industry to cultivate?

    1. Adaptive: Leaders must remain open to change and adept at quickly adapting strategies to seize new opportunities, methods and way of working.

    2. Merge the conventional & the progressive approaches: Balance timeless practices with cutting-edge ideas by finding ways to align trusted old methodologies with new agile technology to regularly analyze market performance data, consumer behavior shifts, and cultural trends.

    3. Technological Savviness: Understanding and leveraging advanced tools such as AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics will be critical in driving efficiency and uncovering deeper insights.

    4. Continuous Learning: Finally, the best leaders will remain lifelong learners, staying ahead by continuously upskilling and staying engaged with the latest industry developments.
