QRCA announced the winners of its awards at the organization’s annual conference, held in New Orleans in mid-October. Judy Langer received the President’s Award, Missy Carvin received the Maryanne Plug Spirit Award and Katrina Noelle received the Rising Star Award.
President’s Award: Judy Langer, president of Langer Qualitative, LLC, New York, N.Y., was honored for her meaningful and ongoing contributions to QRCA – including her role in founding QRCA, her long-standing leadership on the Field Committee and her work setting up the QRCA Legacy Fund in 2014. The President’s Award has been presented annually since 2002 to a non-board volunteer member for exemplary service and dedication to QRCA; the recipient is chosen by the QRCA Board of Directors.
Maryanne Plug Spirit Award: Missy Carvin, senior qualitative researcher, New Directions Consulting, White Plains, N.Y., received the award based on her friendliness, creativity, commitment to QRCA, leadership, optimism, humor, mentorship, a passion for life, and unconditional positive regard for all. The Spirit award is named for a cherished QRCA member and has been presented annually since 2003 to celebrate QRCA’s culture of collegial commitment to the organization and its members.
Rising Star Award: Katrina Noelle, owner, KNow Research, San Francisco, Calif., was recognized for her impactful contributions to QRCA, including co-chairing the Sponsorship Committee and serving on the 2014 Revenue Task Force. The Rising Star Award is chosen by the QRCA Board of Directors from candidates nominated by the membership; it was introduced in 2009 and recognizes newer, younger members of QRCA who are making significant contributions to the association.
