Profiling two projects currently funding on market research marketplace Collaborata.
(Separate Boys’ and Girls’ Editions)
Purpose: To provide the first-ever holiday wish-list tracker quantifying kids’ awareness and purchase interest in toys and games. These wish lists will be augmented by parent interviews to capture the power of “the nudge factor.”
Pitch: Each year as fall approaches, toy and game companies make bets as to what will be on kids’ holiday wish lists, often with only intuition and retailer reaction to guide them. “The Kringle Report” offers a never-before-available look at kids’ wish lists, starting in September and tracking them all the way to and beyond the big day.
Who’s Behind This: ConsumerQuest, Inc., a firm with more than 25 years’ experience conducting children’s research in the toy industry.

Purpose: To provide a deep understanding of young consumers’ shifting perceptions toward gender and personal identity by exploring everyday contexts, key influencers, and how brands can gain and maintain relevance.
Pitch: Young consumers are increasingly looking to brands and influencers that reject stereotypes and defy convention when it comes to gender and identity.
Leveraging ethnography and semiotics, this project delves into the behaviors, attitudes, and key human truths illuminating this young audience’s perceptions of personal identity and the implications for brands.
Who’s Behind This: Spinach Ltd., a U.K.-based boutique research consultancy with expertise in Millennials and Generation Z, is leading this research. Sign Salad, a global semiotics cultural-insight agency, is partnering on this project.
